Making you own hummingbird feeder is not difficult at all. You can even make a very nice one saving yourself bunch of money. The starting point would be to find a beatiful glass bottle. Could be wine, liquor or any other beverage type. The colour however should be red because hummingbirds are very attracted to red colour. Where you can find a pretty red bottle? look first if you have one, you may also look at the second hand stores or local flea market, sometimes there are vendors who would like to get rid fo stuff they have and who know that you may find a good deal. Last resource would be that you look for new bottle but of course the price would be higher. You need to purchase also a two 24-inch pieces of ¼-inch copper tubing from the plumbing store. Finally you need to purchase Hummingbird Feeder Tubes that you may find at amazon.
Making the Hummingbird Feeder:
1- Bend the wire around the bottle to make a cage.
2- Fill nectar into your bottle.
3- Place the stopper in the bottle. Tip the nozzle upwards at a 45-degree angle to avoid waist of nectar.
